moving on
While we are moving on with our lives, often we tend to move away from the people we knew when we were growing up . It happens to an extent that even the memory of those people and friends fades away. We visit the neighborhoods where they live. Think about them, that, they are in the same neighborhood but do not take the time to visit them, or even call them. Then one day you find that ten years have passed, and the friend you knew has died.
It will always stay with you that, he lived in this neighborhood but is no longer their for you to see. Every thing's the same but their is a void in your heart as if someone has take a part of your heart out. Life goes on but the memory remains of the lost opportunities and regrets for the calls you did not make.
The saddest part will be, if only, I had made the call. What might have been??

When we grow older only then we begin to have an appreciation of the things that are around us. Along with a need to stay connected.
If you have read this, then please make the call that you know you should make but, put it off thinking there is allways tomorrow.

six months
Today I celebrate the half yearly anniversary of my joining my current organisation. It has been an interesting journey. Full of excitement and boredome in equal measures.
What am I looking back at? What have i Accomplished?
The one thing that i can take form what me stint is that politics plays a very important role in the functioning of any organisation.
Leading a team is the greatest challange one can face as one always has to evaluate his subordinates. and put the best foot forword.
The learning is the thing that i can take away from my current position.

It has been a little more that 4 years that I saw her walk through the door. and a week since her 30 th birthday. Her face has grown indisdinct. The voice no longer resonates. But she remains the standard against which I judge every woman I meet.

bomb blasts......
A post westphalian state is one which has a monopoly on the use of organised voilence. Namely through the use of law enforcement agencies for internal voilence. The military for externel voilence. This is used to perpetuate its legitemecy and further the interests of the state, as the case may be.
Wherever, the state has lost its monopoly of organising voilence and its ability to control it. Its legitimecy has also been lost. The most recent example of it lies in Nepal where the monarchy has been overthrown and replaced with a parliamentry form of governement. This was accomplished by an armed insurgency, by forcing the state to recogonise it. The monarchy was doomed when it started the negotiation with the insurgents.
Back home in India, the situation is little diffrent. It is beset with internal insurgencies and unrest. This is mostly a result of dis en frenchising of the different population groups, along with a struggal for resources. Majority of them cam be controled through simple measures of economic development and spread of education along with decentraliastion of authority as envisiged through Panchayti raj instutions. In order to re-franchise the groups and to eleminate the sence of alianation which is pervading amongst them.
However, India is also facing a differet kind of voilence. Which is amplified by the recent series of attacks, e.g Varanacy, Faizabad, Banglore, Ahamadabad, The aborted attacks on surat. These are urban centers whch are growing as a result of economic libraliasation. The objective of the attack is only to demonstrate, that, nowhere it is safe in India. The level of organisation dispayed in terms of execution of the attacks suggests that the attackers are mounting a serious challange to the monopoly of organised voilence of the Indian state.
In order to preserve the legetemecy of its existence the attackers must be brought to justice as soon as possible. As a lack of credible action will only serve to erode the authourity of the Indian state.

Darkness & Light
The post is about a performance every one is talking about, "The Dark Kight".
What is it that makes it work?
Is it the magnificent performance of a dead actor. Or the brilliace of the narrative. Where there are no winners only losers. No light only night and no day at the end of the light.
Can some one hold the line against the night? Can the line be held until the light. We are conditioned to believe that, take comfort dear heart there is always light beyond the clouds. No matter how dark the day there is always light.
What do you do when darkness perceds darkness. night after night, hour after hour, minute after minute. All hope is lost, who do you look up to. where is the hope. where is salvation.
Hope and salvation lie in the hands of one man. Romans called him Ceasor. For gotham it is the Shining kinght batman (Anonomus) and Harvy Dent the Disrict Attorny. The most recognisable face in the city. On whose sholders the hopes of an entire city rests.
To answer the question," What is it that makes it work?"
What makes it work is the hope that Harvy will take the city back from the Mob, and give the city back to the citizens. Everyone, including Batman belives it. That he is the future and not Batman.
It is all the more, heartbreaking when this hope is shattered. Batman must sacrifice himself and his reputation to preserve the fiction that harvey was the rey of hope for the city and his loss is a loss of the city itself.
The price that batman pays is not one that he can pay out of his own free will. But it is one that he must pay. He must endure as he, is not one man but a symbol and an idea. Men die ideas don't.
That is what makes this film work.

Why do people come to office at 8.30 in the morning if they have to talk about their family lives till 10.00 am.??
The discussion is all about clining washing cooking and children. Sometime i feel that I am not in the office, but, rather in a kitty party for women of the locality.
What their Husband are like what their children are like. Complaining about the in laws.
Tea and biscutes are also present.

The old joke is, "a pedistrian is some one you run over in a car".
The lack of facilities makes them risk their lives in order cross the road. However, where the facilities are present it makes no sence for them not to use them.

parking in palika
this in an excellent facility. which is not being utilised by people. It is so when they park their cars in the coridors instead of the slots allocated to them.
makes me wonder why do people who can buy cars worth 20 lacs, dont have sence worth 20 paisae.

The city is being reborn every day of the week. people are changing the old heartlessness is still present. but a new kinder and gentler soul is now taking shape. which is a treat to watch.

friends
The fights the arguments and the midnight calls. the marathon movies sessions. Meeting every Sunday. I have lost the count of years we have been together.

Its easier to work your self. Then to get work done from others. Its tough being a Boss. as have to take into consideration the needs of yous employees along with the needs of the organizations.
when the individual ends and the organization begins is a difficult judgenment to make.
Different employees have different points where they end and their work begins.
Different employees take the different attitude of work. Some take ownership of what they do. Some give up early and leave the task unfinished. they are the ones who are a liability to the setup.
the ones who take complete ownership of what they do. and finish the job to the best of their abilities. Go home proud of what they have done during the day. They are the ones who will grow tremendously and quickly in a rewarding setup.
It is the job of the boss to make sure that his employees are rewarded adequately for their efforts.

Delhi A City Rivived
I started this post a long time ago. Only now have dicieded to finish it. The purpose was to remark the changes that are taking place in a city I have lived in for the past 22 years. Of which slightly less than 17 have been spent in Lodhi Colony.
The past 10 years have been remarkable in the tranceformation of the city. The transformation is taking place primarly in the civic infrastructure of the city It all started with the judgement of the Delhi Court directing that, all the publice transport vehicles in tehsity must be run on CNG (From Buses to Autos). Followed by the Delhi Metro. Today, the defunct DTC has been revived and it has beed done through the introduction of low floor busses both AC and non AC on key routs.
All this is helping towords turning the city into a better place to live.
One hopes that the momentum of this transformation is not lost. Along tith a hope that the same process will be repeated in other cities on the country.

character
The strength to go on when one just dose not know defines ones character. It is especially true in times of crises as you are being tested from all sides and salvation seems a long way off. The ability hold on to ones dreams the ability to endure the difficulty. The willingness to take a chance , courage to take the initiative to make a desired change. is what defines character.
It is not only the strength to go on but also the strength to ask for guidance during moments of confusion. The ability to apologise for a mistake. The willingness to go on when all others have quit.
It is easy to go with the flow without thinking. But it is important to be able to think for one self. and take a stand in life.
